The scoop
Creature Coffee Co is an Austin-based mobile coffee catering company and specialty roaster. Custom-branded espresso carts staffed by professional baristas serve corporate events, weddings and conferences across Austin, Seattle, Phoenix and Boston, and the company roasts and ships small-lot, sustainably sourced beans direct to consumers.
Michael Craig, a London transplant, launched Creature Coffee in Austin in 2017 as a pop-up espresso cart started with about $1,000. A small Austin cafe followed (Daily Coffee News profiled it in 2019) before the pandemic pushed the business toward roasting: in 2020 Craig partnered with a friend to roast Creature's own beans, growing it into a mobile catering and specialty-roasting operation with a second office in Seattle.
