The scoop
Capital One Café on East 6th Street pairs a full-service bank branch with a walk-in coffee bar, serving Verve Coffee Roasters drinks, pastries, and light lunch fare alongside free WiFi and open coworking seating. It's less an independent coffee shop than a branded hybrid space, but it's open to anyone, customer or not.
Capital One relaunched its downtown Austin bank branch as a café-branch hybrid around 2018, part of a company-wide $150M initiative to renovate branches for an increasingly digital-first banking customer base. The location, in the ground-floor of the Littlefield Building at Congress Avenue and 6th Street, originally served Peet's Coffee before Capital One transitioned its café chain nationwide to Verve Coffee Roasters.
