Cosmic Saltillo

The scoop

Cosmic Saltillo is the East Austin sister location of Cosmic Coffee + Beer Garden, set inside a converted historic Texaco Depot at Plaza Saltillo. Architect Clayton Korte's renovation keeps the industrial shell intact while adding climbing vines, a lily-pad water feature, graffiti murals, and a 30-foot tower leading to a rooftop deck. Alongside the same coffee-and-cocktail menu as the original South Austin location, Cosmic Saltillo runs an all-day taqueria, Cosmic Tacos, plus a full bar and outdoor garden.

Cosmic Hospitality Group, the team behind the original South Austin beer garden (opened 2017), opened Cosmic Saltillo on September 8, 2023 as its second location. The space reuses a historic Texaco Depot building, transformed by architect Clayton Korte into an industrial-meets-garden venue with a rooftop deck.
