The scoop
Cafe at The Loren is the ground-floor coffee bar at The Loren at Lady Bird Lake hotel, serving espresso drinks and Sour Duck pastries by day right off the Hike-and-Bike Trail near Zach Theatre. By afternoon it shifts into a wine and cocktail lounge, with Moody Tongue sushi service Tuesday through Saturday evenings.
The cafe opened in April 2023 as part of The Loren at Lady Bird Lake hotel, starting with mornings-only hours before expanding to a 7am-7pm daily schedule by the end of that month. It is overseen by Brad McDonald, the hotel's Director of Restaurants and Bars, who described it as serving 'the morning crowd craving the perfect cup of coffee' and the 'post-work crew looking for a go-to spot for late-afternoon libations.'
