Lau Lau
Asian American specialty coffee and pastries on Guadalupe
The scoop
Lau Lau is a specialty coffee shop near UT Austin blending traditional espresso drinks with Asian American-inspired flavors like fish sauce caramel and Chinese five spice. Scratch-made pastries include egg tarts, pineapple buns, and red miso biscuits.
Founded by Hannah Foy, a longtime service-industry professional, and named after her family, Lau Lau reflects her Chinese American experience growing up biracial in the Midwest. The shop opened with a soft opening in mid-August 2025 and a grand opening in late September 2025, conceived as an inclusive community space celebrating mixed heritage.
