Teal House Coffee & Bakery

South Congress bakery-cafe born from a family's home-kitchen cinnamon rolls.

The scoop

Teal House Coffee and Bakery is a South Congress Avenue storefront serving specialty coffee alongside a scratch bakery menu of cinnamon rolls, croissants, and savory kolaches. The shop grew out of the Phillips family's home kitchen before adding a Buda food truck and, in 2021, this brick-and-mortar location. The drink menu covers straightforward espresso drinks -- cortado, flat white, cappuccino -- plus matcha and London Fog lattes.

The Phillips family started selling cinnamon rolls and apple pies to neighbors out of their teal-colored house's kitchen in 2016. They took the business mobile with a food truck in 2018, then spent two years designing their first storefront, which opened on South Congress Avenue in 2021.
