The scoop
Ovenbird is a seasonal neighborhood bistro, bakery, and third-wave coffee shop in South Austin, blending Central and Eastern European influences with scratch-made cooking. The menu spans specialty coffee, breakfast, pastries, cakes, and sandwiches, with a rotating weekend brunch and an evening food-and-cocktail menu on Thursdays and Fridays. Chef-owner Sarah Koslosky calls the concept "Tex-Baltic," pairing her Lithuanian heritage with Texas farm ingredients.
Ovenbird is the passion project of owner and executive chef Sarah Koslosky, who built the concept around her Lithuanian heritage fused with Texas ingredients and technique. The coffee program is run by a dedicated head barista and pours beans from local roaster Figure 8 Coffee rather than roasting in-house.
