Summer Moon is an Austin-born coffee chain built around beans roasted in handbuilt brick roasters over seasoned Texas post oak, a method drawn from 19th-century coffee masters. Its signature drink pairs oak-roasted espresso with Moon Milk, a sweet house-made cream, served hot or iced. The Circle C / West Slaughter Lane location is a drive-thru shop with indoor seating and a pet-friendly patio.
Summer Moon began in 2002 after a family won coffee-roasting equipment at a local Hill Country auction, which led them to hand-build their first oak-fired brick roaster and develop Moon Milk. The original Summer Moon Coffee Bar opened on South First Street in Austin in 2005, followed by a Buda location in 2013 and further expansion across Central and South Texas. The company has since grown to more than 70 locations.
