The scoop
Patika is a locally-owned Austin coffee café now based in the lobby of 100 Congress downtown, serving espresso, brewed coffee, wine, and beer alongside breakfast, brunch, and lunch. The menu includes boxed pastries, breakfast tacos, sandwiches, salads, and house-made granola. A sister café on South Lamar operates out of a restored 1940s building with preserved Arkansas flagstone walls.
Patika takes its name from the Turkish word for "footpath," a nod to the hidden coffee houses of old Istanbul. The team built its South Lamar café inside a restored 1940s building with designer Gerardo Ayala and architect Elizabeth Baird, and later reopened a second café in the lobby of 100 Congress downtown. Patika also runs its own roasting operation, Superthing Coffee Roasters.
