The scoop

A South Austin institution set in a renovated 1940s house, Radio Coffee & Beer pairs espresso and house-roasted coffee with local craft beer and cocktails, all served on a huge tree-shaded patio. Rotating food trucks (Shortwave, Veracruz All Natural, and others) handle breakfast through dinner, and the venue regularly hosts live music, trivia, and community events.

Musician Jack Wilson and his father Greg Wilson opened Radio Coffee & Beer in 2014 in a renovated 1940s house on Manchaca Road, after Jack spent years in Seattle's specialty coffee scene. The pair built it as a laid-back neighborhood 'third space' combining house-roasted coffee, craft beer, food trucks, and live music. The concept has since expanded to Radio/East (2023, Montopolis) and Radio Rosewood (2025, East 11th Street).
