The Violet Crown Wine Bar & Coffee Shop

Specialty coffee shop by day, natural wine bar by night in Crestview.

The scoop

The Violet Crown is a neighborhood coffee shop and natural wine bar in the Crestview Shopping Center, pouring specialty coffee in the morning and curated natural wines in the evening. Pastries come from Texas French Bread, kolaches from Kerlaches, and donuts from Andy K's. It's built as a gathering spot for coworking by day and catching up with friends over a glass of wine by night.

Married couple and business partners Chris Nagelhout and Grant Richardson opened The Violet Crown on May 6, 2023 — their first hospitality venture together. Richardson previously worked at natural-wine importer Pangea Selections, and Nagelhout co-owns Crisp Farms, an organic produce and tilapia farm. The name and flying-pig mascot pay tribute to the space's previous tenant, Violet Crown Clubhouse, which closed in January 2023.
